It’s Q&A time!
Q: Who are you?
A: An artist and avid reader, I’m recently finished my Master of Library and Information Science degree at Western University in Ontario, Canada. For more info, head over to my About page.
Q: Why “MLIS MEG”?
A: MLIS stands for Master of Library and Information Science, the program in which I’m currently enrolled. This page is going to focus on my academic journey, so I thought I’d keep the title simple.
Q: So… Visual Arts to Library and Information Science?
A: They’re closer than you think! You know the pile of dirt on the floor that some people call “Art?” Well, I’m one of those people. I create and enjoy conceptual art. Conceptual art is about the idea behind the work presented. The art, the viewer, and the idea all come together to form a dialogue. I believe this dialogue is a form of information exchange influenced by a number of factors, such as context. Information science studies similar phenomena and I am thrilled to be immersed in the discussion.
